About the 2008 Individual Player
Draft
Description of the 2008 Garden State Baseball League:
In 2008, Garden State Baseball will provide teams with a competitive
wood bat baseball league. We will do all the work for teams to get their
players registered and ready to play. With 8 years of experience Garden
State Baseball prides it self on making sure teams play the best
baseball New Jersey can offer. The GSBL offers a great High School
Program that offers a feeder program for age’s 13+14, and 15+16. This is
a greater feeder program for High School to see that their future
varsity players get the experience they will need to play on a varsity
team. The GSBL Wood Bat Summer and Fall League for ages 13 up to College
Unlimited provides teams with a fun, safe, and very competitive baseball
league. We keep to tradition by only using wood bats year round.
In order to get on a team the whole process starts with a draft. The application
fee to register is $55.00 a player. In most cases this fee will save you
the cost and hassles of traveling from team to team searching for the
right fit. Finding a team can be a lengthy, time consuming, and frustrating
process. Our draft works with many teams to help players locate the closest
team to their house that needs a player. In most cases when a team reaches
out for you it is because they are very interested in you and you fit
the needs of their team. There are several teams that have openings. The
Garden State Baseball League will fill many of its openings through this
draft including its league made teams. In addition there are several
other independent teams who have openings and are among many
other possible independent teams that may draft you.
We know you will have many questions that you would like answered before
choosing a team but before anyone can start answering questions like where
the team is based, how many practices they have, etc you will have to
wait until you are drafted by a team. The reason is simple; every team
is different and they have different schedules. They also have different
budgets and require different commitments. The draft helps you by giving
you eliminating time and time is money. You will not commit to any team
until you talk with the coach and you are completely satisfied with the
team and execute a team/player contract. If you do not like the team that
drafts you for whatever reason you can decline that team and request to
go back into the draft and be redrafted without paying another draft fee.
Once you attend your 2nd meeting with the same team then is your draft
complete.
The GSBL Individual Player Draft is for ballplayers ages 13 years old
up to College Unlimited. Players will have the opportunity to play all
year round in 3 different seasons and winter training.
